Figured this would be of some interest here....

Okay... so here's a quick and easy on making Jaffa head tattoos, for gold ones for First Primes.

1 sheet of Foamie (yeah, the 2mm stuff you get at Walmart. Pay the extra $.10 for the adhesive backing)
1 Bottle of Dimensional Paint (the stuff that kind of sticks up from the surface)
1 Bottle of Gold metallic paint

Okay.... so I'll admit, I got the idea from the foamie armor tutorials I've been reading lately and some of the stuff I've seen done. This is quick and dirty so I'm not going to give a long drawn out step by step direction. I'm just gonna bull right through it.

Start off by sketching out the system lord symbol that you need on a piece of paper so that it's the right size for the forehead symbol. Then you can either draw the symbol on the foamie and cut it out, or cut it out and then draw the symbol on the foamie. I did it the first way, but couldn't care less how you do it, as long as you're happy with it.
I drew my symbol on half a post-it-note, and then placed that over the spot of foamie. Then I traced it several times till it cut through the paper and left a mark on the foamie.

Once you get the symbol traced on the foamie, and the foamie cut out; trace over the symbol with the dimensional paint. You may have to trace over it more than once in order to build it up some. Once the dimensional paint has dried, paint over it with the metallic gold paint.

If you get the foamie with the adhesive backing, you won't need anything to stick the tattoo on... just remove the backing and stick it on yer melon! Course, if you have a reaction to the adhesive, you've in another boat and'll need to find your own way of stickin it on.

That's an interesting idea.

We had a Klingon costumer make one for us. I gave him a sketch of what I needed. He made a plaster for it, then applied 3 layers of latex in the mold overlapping the edges a little bit every time. I'm sure there was some mold release used prior to the first layer of latex.

I haven't taken any pictures of it, but it looks pretty good. I also haven't painted it yet.

Well... if you'd like... with a picture of the symbol for Aries, I could do up a few for you for the fan film. if anything see hoy they look with an 'actual' first prime tattoo.

We're not using Ares in the second Episode. We already have an appliance made for Hera's First Prime.
